On LUG we tend to call those who create thousands of separate Master Sources "Splitters" and those of us who make one Master Source serve for numerous Citations are "Lumpers." Personally, I am a lumper, I believe it to be "best database practice" and would never recommend anyone to become a splitter. However, each to his own and the most important thing is to do what you are comfortable with. With regard to corrections, if you have made an error in a Master Source you can edit that Source and the change will be reflected in ALL Citations using that Source. If the error is in the Source Detail, you can use Search and Replace - you do get the option NOT to make the change if it doesn't apply to certain records. You should also familiarise yourself with the Source Clipboard which can save you hours of data entry and thus reduces the chance of you making an error. -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
