I have watched this problem for some time and there is another sequence that 
does make the map work.  When I find that checking "Show Map" in the Master 
Locations only shows a blank then I go to "Family" tab and click on the 
"Mapping" icon.  After a few seconds (assuming you are online) the map shows 
for that family group.  Then go to Master Locations and the "Show Map" does 
work.  I'm not sure why this method causes it to wake up but it does work.  
Perhaps it will give clues to a fix for the programmers.
