The emulation for 16 bit programs and also for 32 bit programs on 64 bit 
Windows operating systems is a backward support.  Microsoft would lose massive 
market share if they did not support in this manner when Win8 is launched.

That is not exactly true... Win 7 you have to run xp virtually to run some XP 
programs that are 16 bit.  You have to have the ultimate version to do this.

Ron, Windows 8 would still have to be backward compatible with earlier versions 
otherwise it would not sell.  So all current issues would still exist.
As an ex program developer this would be seen as an opportunity to earn more 
money.
