It's good to do regular check/repair and Compact Family File as your
file grows - the processes clean up the deleted information, checks
the intregity of the database and compacts it to help it run faster.

Always back up (File > Backup Family File) before running any of the
File Maintenance utilities.

I've seen some really huge files with hundreds of thousands of individuals.
