Michele,

I think it was Sherry who advised using File Maintenance on a regular basis,
and I agree with her. I run it about once a month. Sure one may may go for
years and not hit a problem, but then, particularly with a large file, there
are likely to be large chunks which have never been looked at for a long time –
and who knows what may be lurking there!

I also suspect that the more one uses a file to produce reports, change the
data, export/import, and, in general, do anything which may involve saving a
report the more probable that errors may creep in. I really do recommend that
one takes the advice of the program authors and staff when it comes down to
running a program.

Really? I do a file maintenance about once a week! Since I work in my file
every day. Maybe I don’t need to do it this often!

I have 10,500 and I think I've been using Legacy since about 2002. In those
nearly 10 years I believe I've done File Maint. 3 times.. The most recent was
just a few weeks ago because I was curious what it would show. Never had any
problems show up.
