Michele,
My one file has 28,283.  And it has not slowed down yet.  And I do not do
file maintenance or compaction that often.  Just keep backing up when ever I do
a lot of changes...like now completing the location listings to conform to
standards and picking up missing information.

Subject: [LegacyUG] number of people in your file

I am curious, how many people do you have in your file?  I have 7800
and I think that is a lot.  I am wondering if you have exceptionally large
files does it slow down at all?  Do you need to do the file maintenance
more often?  Compact more often?
