Michele, My one file has 28,283. And it has not slowed down yet. And I do not do file maintenance or compaction that often. Just keep backing up when ever I do a lot of changes...like now completing the location listings to conform to standards and picking up missing information.

I have 7800 and I think that is a lot. I am wondering if you have exceptionally large files does it slow down at all? Do you need to do the file maintenance more often? Compact more often? michele Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
