My way is similar but involves less clicking, I think.

After the initial Search to create the list of tagged individuals,
having worked on each person and removed the tag I click on the
bar-with-2-arrows next to the Search button and this brings up all the
names on the original list, but it's easy to see which ones have had the
tag removed (1) and which person you want to work on next.

(1)  Make sure you've got the correct tag as one of the 3 to show, of
course!
