Just think about the technology involved and everything that COULD go
wrong. It may work fine 99.99% of the time. But it is not guaranteed.
I'll bet the license agreement you accepted said something like "we are
not responsible for loss of data"?

Dropbox is fine for off-site storage of a backup, and many other things.
But don't use it for your live database unless you are willing to accept
the occasional glitch.
