I only use the override when the template isn't working to my satisfaction
and I plan to publish the source in one of the blogs I write.  Otherwise, I
just hold off on the citation until I really need to tweak.  Sometimes it
gets tweaked in the Word document.

You could use the basic system, create a few "templates" that you then copy
when you want to use that "style" again.  Randy Seaver talked about doing
just that in his blog when he was comparing different software programs.
