Kirsten,

Sounds like your considering Carbonite's service so I thought I would chime
in here. I signed up for their free trial and was literally minutes away
from paying for a subscription when I learned something key. Carbonite will
not backup external drives. Only drives that are physically installed in
your computer will be backed up. Like so many of us, we use external hard
drives connected via USB either as backup drives or at least expanded
storage.

For me, that was deal breaker and I chose a different service (in my case,
it was backblaze.com)

If the external drive issue is not a problem for you, I think Carbonite is
otherwise a good service.

To more directly address your question though, right now I store my Legacy
DB on my DropBox account and then I include that drive/folder in the
backup. Once I get things settled I plan to incorporate an external drive
as another backup device and then I will backup that backup the offline
backup site (which is unlimited storage). I used to use MozyPro like this
but they recently changed their TOS so that it's not unlimited anymore.

Hope that helps.

Paul
