I have a friend who had a subscription to Carbonite and her Windows
Vista computer crashed. She got a new one with Windows 7 and it wasn't
a problem restoring the Family Files and linked data that were in the
c:\Legacy sub-folders.

She did have a big problem with everything else that was in the
Documents and Pictures folder because of the file path differences.

They throttled back her download and it took about 2 weeks for all her
files to be restored - she had thousands of photos.

Personally, I think if you back up your Family Files and Pictures on
an external drive and/or CDs using the File > Backup Familiy File,
that will be quite good for you - make sure that you have copies
stored off-site, though.

Sincerely,
Sherry
