Rebecca, First make sure that your file directory structure is the same on both computers. If they use different operating systems (ie Windows 7, Vista, XP) or if your username is different on either computer then do not store any of your Legacy files in the “my documents folder”, instead create separate folders on your hard drive or use the folders within Legacy itself. Then the easiest way to keep your files in sync is to use the backup and restore function within Legacy. Backup is not just only for emergency restoration! Now after working on one computer do the file backup of family file you were working on and if you added any multimedia, do the multimedia backup for same file (this is why you need to have the same directory structure on both computers). Then save the zip files just created to a thumbdrive or external hard drive. Go to the other computer and copy the saved files to that computer, then open Legacy and then do a Restore family file and choose the file you just saved. To restore the multimedia then unzip the multimedia zip file you just saved and it should restore the files to your other computer and put them in the same folders as on your original computer. Hope this helps Russ

For instance, I will work on my desktop adding information to my Legacy file. Then I need to work on my laptop. How do I get the most recent info on my laptop? If I understand correctly a backup is only for an emergency restoration. If what I need to do is "save the file as", then how do I update whatever computer file I need to update? Kindergarten language, PLEASE Thank you for any help you can offer.
