Jane, With the Master Location Index opened, click on the "options" button located in the left hand side. >From there, choose "expand/contract location parts"...there are several choices listed there that you can choose (which may "handle" changing your states from an abbreviated form to the full form.)
To change the "Co" to county...you should be able to accomplish that with a "search and replace" (located in your "search" button on the tool bar.)
