Hi Marla,

I ask myself which is most important, the note, or the source. You can create
a new event for each paragraph and ‘source’ that so now your paragraph has a
heading and a source will show up in your Master list. I would find that very
disjointed if those paragraphs were material for ongoing research.

I prefer to put most of those paragraphs/notes in my Research notes and add a
line, or two, to explain where that note came from, which could include a web
address – thereby providing me with the ‘source’. All my notes are in one
place which makes them easier to examine and compare. I can now see everything
‘visually’ as they are not disconnected.

If the paragraph was there for primarily for support documentation, such as a
Probate transcription, then I would have that as a separate event.

Maybe I could compare this to my photos. I have all the family photos
concerning the individual in the Picture Gallery for them. They are all
together in one place. I don't create a separate event for each photo and
source them separately. I do source my photos - sometimes by notes in the
description field, with others I will 'write on the back of the photo' by using
IrfanView to give details and the source - or do both. A 'Document.jpg' is
another matter, that is, a birth certificate would be under 'Birth Pictures',
and so on.

Thanks Brian. That was what I thought. Seems like it's not where I need to be
putting my notes. I think I will stay with my individuals' information
-events/facts section so I can see everything (visually)

It is not possible, in Legacy, to source parts of Notes. The sources are
linked to the entire notes not to individual paragraphs within the notes.
