I got the courage to run the "auto match" in the Legacy/New Family Search.  In
looking through the names they have auto  matched, I have found that only about
50% really match my particular person Legacy Family Tree.  Many times the match
is really a sibling.  Same parents, Birth year a few years off, but a totally
different first name.  Other times the years are 100 or more apart.  Really
couldn't be the child of that particular parent, even though the names are the
same or very similar.  When they are not the same, I go into the tab "Possible
Matches" and choose to "Unmatch person".  Be very careful and don't assume that
the auto match will do a good job.

Jill, Check also that thread that starts "Options > Customize >"  - it was
about the matching, flagging, updating, etc.  I think that was also the thread
that pointed toward LFS tutorial videos and a nFS Help webpage...?

Yesterday, I made the above (or below) post about Auto Match.  I did not get
one response!  Does anybody know anything about it?  If not, can support help
me out?  I have always had such great responses when I have asked questions in
the past.  Thanks.

Can any one tell me exactly what the Auto Match button does (or doesn't do)?
in Legacy/Family Search? Since I cannot choose to do just 5 or 10 names, I
am concerned about doing my whole file without knowing what the consequences
might be.  I can't find any documentation anywhere on the Legacy Family
Tree website!  Thanks.
