Legacy uses functions from IE that are part of Windows so when you
invoke a browser from the Legacy Home Tab it is IE that will open since
it is effectively IE that is opening the web site. If you want to open
your default browser to view webinars use Internet > Legacy Home Page to
open Firefox then use the menus on the home page to view webinars.

There is an Internet Setting for IE that is supposed to suppress the
display of those script error messages, unfortunately it does not always
work for the components of IE that are used by Legacy. We have a several
problem reports recorded for the script errors since they can occur in
several parts of Legacy, not just on the Legacy Home tab, but they are
still outstanding. I just added a new problem for the Legacy Home tab
since there has been no previously reported problems with script errors
there.
