Hello LUG,

I have just received two privately created Family History binders (typed
and handwritten notes) and one large 3 ring photo album, of information
from my wife's side of the family. I have volunteered to compile this
information into Legacy for my eldest sister-in-law. My objective is not to
publish a book but rather to get all the info and photos into Legacy then
save them to CD for family members that may want them.

I have decided to put the info from each binder into a separate Family
File, thus having three files corresponding to each binder source. These
may then be merged into one main file.

My primary concern is how to treat the sources. Due to time constraints I
am thinking of using the name of each binder as one source for all
information contained in the respective Family File. That is each Family
File will only have one source for all the information therein. When I do
the final merge I plan to source each File once upon import giving me three
sources in the combined Family File. My sister-in-law will be listed as the
repository for the binders.
I hope I have explained this clearly!

Any thoughts, comments, or suggestions on this approach would be much
appreciated before I start entering the data.

Regards,

Larry Lee
