The strange thing is that the father was entered as George David Parker but
with only that last child (when child is clicked) the father's name becomes
George Parker Sr. and the mom  and her information has vanished.
When I click the "back" arrow the child's correct parents are displayed again.
(Yes, he (George David Parker) had several wives. But these children are with
his 1st wife)  By the way, George David Parker's wife only married him. She
does not have any additional spouses.

Another thing I just noticed is the next to last child's name is in italics. I
don't think I entered it that way??

I don't know if any of this makes any difference. If you still think your
instructions to fix this will work then I will do that.
Honestly, I am not trying to be difficult, I am a bit worried I might lose
information, so am being cautious.

Thank-you for your help.
Peggy

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Family Group Display - What Happened?

As Sherry said, it looks like that last child was incorrectly linked to
only the father not to the couple.

With the father and mother in the centre of the display check the
spouses icon below the father. Is there a small number 2? If so click on
that icon to display the spouses list, you will probably see the real
wife and an unknown wife.

To fix this:
First With the father and mother still in the centre of the display
right click on an empty child spot
Select Link to an existing son or daughter depending on the gender of
that last child.
Select that last child from the name list and click select
You will be warned the child is already a child of another family
Click OK
Now you can open the fathers spouses list again
Select the unknown spouse
Click the unlink button to remove that spouse,
You will be warned that there is a child
Click Yes
