Mike, Your solution will only work where the father-in-law is entered twice and has two different RINs. In Elizabeth's case the father-in-law has only one RIN but two marriages.
Elizabeth, Go to your father-in-laws family page Check to see if this is the one with only your husband, or the one with all the children Look at the spouse icon for him There should be a small 2 on the icon indicating he has two wives Click on the marriage information line to open the current marriage Note the MRIN number in the top of the screen beside the screen title Cancel to close the marriage screen Click on the icon to open the marriage list There are two possibilities a. one of the wives has no name while the other has the correct wife. In this case select the one with the nameless wife and use the unlink button to remove the marriage link b. both wives have the same name In this case you will have to select one of the marriages and ensure that it is the one where only your husband is the child. Right click on the marriage information line for this family and select remove the marriage link. A warning screen will appear showing the children and saying that they will be unlinked from any parents Ignore the warning since your husband will still be linked to the other marriage Brian Customer Support Millennia Corporation [email protected] http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com We are changing the world of genealogy!
