Brian's told you the proper way to do it.

The way I did it when I tripped over this (twice!) was I unlinked the
husband since he was the problem, left the children with the mother,
added the correct husband which listed the children as his steps then
added the children again and deleted the superfluous ones.  The second
time I merged the two.  Neither way was particularly elegant but they
worked - and others wonder why I like Legacy :))
