Hi Ted, There is more than one way to find your couple...
A) In Family View bring up the Marriage List (via the icon, or View > Marriage List, or Ctrl-M) and search for the couple. You then have three choices for sorting the list and finding a couple: 1) by MRIN; (not much help to you in this case) 2) by husband's name (surname, given name); 3) by wife's name (surname, given name). Put your cursor in the field of your choice, and start typing. B) In Family View bring up the Name List (via the icon, or View > Name List, or Ctrl-I) and search for one of the couple. Again, you have three choice, slightly different to the Marriage List: 1) by RIN; (not much help to you in this case) 2) by given name; 3) by surname. Again, put your cursor in the field that you want, and type. With the Name List, you have more viewing choices - click on Options, and you can select to include Alternate Names, and/or include Married Names. This doesn't change your database at all, but gives you more names in your Name List, which can make it easier to find the person you're after, depending on what you can remember about them. Hope this helps. :-) Kind Regards, Wendy Ted Noonan said the following on 2/09/2012 11:59 a.m.: > Hello > > How do I search my family file for a marriage knowing > > - the husband's given name and wife's given name > > or > > - the husband's surname and wife's given name > > Regards > Ted Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
