Lana, I don't think there is a way to make it save "USA" when you select one of the locations that are found in the United States. There was a change in the program when they added the "United States" options and now it no longer stores the 3 character abbreviation. Someone must have thought it would be confused with another nation. For some reason, the short location, which is supposed to be an abbreviated location name, also stores "United States" versus "USA".
As a side note, observe that in the locations presented after a search in GEO database, that they do show on screen with "USA" but then are saved with "United States". Probably just a remnant of the previous method that has not been changed yet. I like your idea to save "USA" might be an optional setting somewhere instead of just "United States" when a location is saved from the GEO lookup. When I am working with it, I just regularly have the Options flip them all to be how I like them, usually removing "USA" and "United States". For those who might be interested in USA as an abbreviation see this web site which lists quite a few of them. http://www.acronymfinder.com/USA.html Apparently somebody thinks, when you say USA, you mean "United States of Africa" instead of "United States of America" or one of the other possibilities. The expression “When you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras” comes to mind. Perhaps that is not true for those living on the savannahs of Africa!
