That is a web-based thing. This is email-based. Different animals. When you go web-based, you almost force the less-knowledgeable users to use a web browser. For those users where their ISP deals are capped by cost or volume, this is not very useful. Yes, some of these "open" forum engines have an email facility, buts that's only for receiving notifications of messages being posted to topics that the user has previously expressed an interest in.
