Hi, Jay, thank you for answering. I have several problems.

1)I signed up for the list, but I am not getting any emails. My question
"search and replace" made it to the list; but in order to see any
responses, I have to go to the archives to read it. Then I don't know how
to respond. I found a button to email you personally or is this response
going to the list? I used to be a member years ago. I got all the list
emails then. I know I've gotten older but is there something I'm missing?

2)search and replace: I guess my little Acer must be getting bogged down by
all the Microsoft updates, etc. and it is causing it to be slow. I tried
the Search and Replace on a newer, faster machine and it was faster. Here
are the results:
When I did a search and replace to change a surname from Smith to Smithyy
(as a test), the search proceeded until it found the first one (record 11),
whereupon I selected "replace all" and it finished going through the
records making 249 replacements in less than a second (I have 25K people).
That was great, exactly as before. However, if I do a search and replace
for the Citation details (the one I use the most), it goes through the
records til it gets to the first one, I click "replace all", it goes
through the remainder of the records and then goes through the records
again, you can see it by watching the progression of the "search process"
bar at the bottom. At least it's not so much of a bother on a faster
machine. Thank you for explaining that to me so I could test it out.

3)I figured out my problem with the Footnote/Endnote Citations not
appearing on the "assigned sources for:...." screen. I need to go to "Edit
Detail" and make sure two things are checked: a)Add this Detail to the
Source Citation on Reports and b)Include this Citation on Reports". That
way the whole citation and details along with date show.

Thank you for spending time on my problems. Now if I could just receive the
emails and be able to respond, that would be great.
