Larry - What I would like is the following in Legacy Charting
Under Appearances > box items - to have the option of adding an event if
desired. I have created an event named Occupation1  in which I have just
entered the occupation of an ancestor in the description field. Most of my
ancestors had only one occupation, but if they had more than one I enter them
as joiner/undertaker. I can make this event private if I am creating a
narrative report so it does not show up there. But I could uncheck private and
add this event to a chart if the option was available, under the dates,
formatted as desired.
Family history magazines often show charts with the occupation under a person's
date in their box and you can often see several generations of a family
following the same trade and personally I think this is a useful addition to a
chart. You can also see at a glance if occupations change in different families
around the same time if looking at an ancestor chart, this helps suggest some
social or economic change occuring at that time.
Another events which could be used in this way if desired is Religion. I am
sure people could think of others. Personally I would probably only add one
event if the option was available, but again other people may disagree.
I hope this makes sense.
