JPG is extremely poor quality for chart output and not recommended.
Photos and text will be grainy - particularly noticeable in a large
chart.  The genealogy software native chart output is best quality;
second is PDF to a virtual printer or to a plotter.   If Dave has the
plotter driver, he can format his chart for that printer and then
'print' the chart to that printer (first making it his default
printer) and take the resultant file to the friend for printing.
