Who knows what will work in the future??? <g> All file types can be linked in the Picture Gallery. However, only the Preferred Picture can be used in reports and web pages - and that would be a file with a graphic file extension. You can choose between all Preferred, only tagged Preferred or only untagged Preferred.
If the PDF is a picture you want to use, then you need to convert it to a graphic format. If you google for convert PDF to graphic you'll find some programs and helpful articles on how to do this. On our website www.LegacyFamilyTree.com, under Help Center > Tips, you'll find an article under "Pictures, Sound and Video: Multimedia Files" which explains working with these files in Legacy. It's quite detailed. You can also access this article through Legacy by clicking on the "Tips from the Experts" link in the Support section of the Legacy home tab.
