If the list of files is long and it's important to you then there is a
solution:
- Open the "Command Prompt" window (also known as the DOS Box).
- Enter:
dir /b "C:\Legacy\Docs" > %tmp%\docs.txt
This will create a "docs.txt" file in the Temp Directory
containing the filenames in the Docs folder. If Legacy is
installed elsewhere, then change the 'dir' command as needed.
The command uses Command Line Redirection to direct the normal
screen output to a file. The '/b' option sends the Bare filename
information only.
- Enter:
notepad %tmp%\docs.txt
Select the body text of the file, copy it and paste it into Word.
