The simplest solution is to download and use PrintFolder ( 
http://no-nonsense-software.com/cgi-bin/redirect/cgirdir.exe?printfolder ).
You can print the listing of everything in a folder.

Here is an example of the output.

  Volume in drive C:\ is OS

The download link says the right click option does not work in Win 7 but that 
is what I used to copy the above.  In any event, opening the program and 
browsing to the desired folder also works, it hust takes a couple of extra 
steps.

I have been using this utility since XP and it has provan useful.
