This is exactly how I handle all my mail lists. When I set a list message
stream to filter to archive or trash, I set a reminder in my Calendar to turn
off the filter in one or two weeks' time or whatever, so that I can resume
reading at the right time. It's easy, and it works, and it means no list admin
hassles.

David -
Rather than "unsubscribe" for a short period like the Christmas break, couldn't
you temporarily filter the LUG messages straight to an archive folder, or even
to the Bin.

BTW I'm using gmail and never had any problems with LUG or any other Lists.
