After watching the last webinar I was inspired to revisit some of my earliest sources. Although I have a lot of old sources and in the absence of a Sourcewriter conversion facility I thought it would be easiest, at least as a test, to start from scratch. So I set about creating new sources for some births and marriages and all went well. I then turned to the 1911 census for England and Wales.
The correct master source is (almost) quite easy to find from the list for online records. I am though confused by a few things: Why the fields 'Jurisdiction Country' and 'Jurisdiction County'? This was after all a national survey and do I really want to create a new master source for each county? The citation defaults to include 'RG78' with seemingly no way to remove this. My understanding is that the census schedules are RG14 and the enumerators summary books are RG78. The problem I have is, to quote Geoff, 'the thing in my hand' is a piece of paper - a printout of the household schedule. So have I used the wrong master source and/or am I using it incorrectly?
