Uppercase is a global change. If you want to show your direct line in
uppercase, you will have to edit each individual in the direct line -
which could be difficult since if you have Smiths who aren't in your
direct line and Smiths who are you have to have the surname in the
Master Surname List  twice... and duplicate surnames are combined with
the Master List Cleanup, unless you deselect it.

Why not use the color-coding system in Legacy?  That flags everyone in
your direct line. Options > Customize 8.3 to set it.

Also you can have the direct line in bold by setting the line as
preferred and then selecting that option in Options > Customize 3.8
