Hi Cathy

I agree that the problem seems to be with the Legacy software itself since all
my family files are affected. If I can solve this problem by deleting old usr
files that would be the easiest solution, but what are they & where are they?
All the different files associated with the data base have confused me & I'm
not sure which are user files. My Legacy program itself is on my C drive and
my family files are on my D drive.

Norma,

Since this is a problem with every file, then the problem isn't within your
family file, so you can relax about that.

You can check Options - Customise - View tab - Edit Marriage Wording - the
labels section.
If they have what you are seeing, correct them and save and all should be well
- one of your settings files has got a bit corrupted.

If you really want to clear out settings, go to the Program folder (with Legacy
closed) and delete the .usr files.
They will all be recreated with Legacy defaults when you next need them.
You could try just deleting Legacy.usr as this is the file that holds most of
the settings from Options Customise.

If that doesn't work, then uninstalling and reinstallling Legacy is the way to
go. You'll need to download the installation file from the internet. You could
use your CD and then update but note that your file probably won't open in
Legacy before you update as it has been saved from a later version and there
were a number of file structure conversions during the life of Legacy 7 (7.5).
