If you know the birth order but not the dates -- as in, George b 17 Apr 1787, Alice, William, Anne born 1795, Lawrence, Sarah b 1799 -- I usually add 1 to the previous known birthdate or subtract 1 from the following one and add a ?. Which would give you George b 17 Apr 1787, Alice b 1788? William b 1794? Anne b 1795, Lawrence b 1796? Sarah b 1799. If that's not what you were wanting, see the other replies.
