Deb,
When a file is converted to version 8, it is also copied to a new disk folder
location.  It sounds like you may have done that but then when you decide to
open your file again you are opening the original file.  See if that is the
case.  If so you can verify that the new converted version 8 file is where it
should be (C:\Users\Username\My Documents\Legacy Family Tree\Data) and be sure
you can open it.  You should find all your changes in that one.  Then delete
the old Legacy 7 file or rename it to avoid confusion.  It will be in
C:\Legacy\Data.

The reason that the old file is left in place is in case you want to open it
again in Legacy 7.  But if you're sure the conversion is right it is
recommended that you delete the old file because you can't move a version 8
database back into version 7.

Hello,
I've been using Legacy 7 for years and now have version 8.

I have two separate files on Legacy, let's say FamilyA.fdb and FamilyB.fdb.
They are completely separate. The problem I'm having is this. When I am working
on one family and want to switch over to work on the other family, I have to
re-load the fdb all over again, losing any data I had entered into the first
file!

When I used version 7, all I had to do was click on the link in the upper
left-hand corner that said "File" and there would be a list of the databases I
had in the program. I would click on the name of whichever fdb  I wanted to go
to and it would take me there. Now, if I do that, as stated above, I have to
reload the one I want to use, losing any information previously entered.

I hope this is clear enough so someone can help me with this!

Thanks,
Deb
