Per the LUG Guidelines (see link at the bottom) please don't send
attachments to the list - many of our listers are still on dial-up or have
limited access and this puts a hardship on them.

Search and Replace is generally for a mass search and replace - where you
have to do something like change every instance of the word "THE" to lower
case, for example.

It's really not usable for your situation since you would need to search on
every single person. The best way to add what you want would be to go
directly to the individual you want to change and make the change there. I
would just go down the Name List or a Search List and make the changes in
the Edit tab.

However, then you'll end up with tons of surnames in the Master Surname
List (View > Master Lists) which will need to be purged - click on the
Options and select "Purge unused names"

It's best not to put the husband's surname in any form in the wife's
surname field. Just leave it blank. Then in the Name List or Index view,
select to "Include married names" and you'll quickly find her by her
married name(s).

You can also select to include the married name in report indexes and a
couple of other places.

Sincerely,
Sherry
