You should always remember that different programs have different ways of doing things. Were the "lost" pictures attached to something in the original program where Legacy does not allow pictures? We allow pictures/media to be linked to many things but there may well be a program out there that attaches media to something we do not.
I have no idea what you mean by "blank file blocking viewing primary media" Legacy will use a place holder image of a Question mark when it cannot find an image file in the location it is expecting the file, is that what you meant by a blank file? It also uses place holder images to represent media which are not image files such as Documents, Sounds and Videos. Legacy 8 includes a much improved Media Re-linker which will search your entire computer for missing files. If it finds only one copy it will automatically revise the file link to point to that found file. If it finds multiple files with the same name it will let you choose which file location is the correct version of the file.
