So nice to see you feeling up to working with your genealogy again. It sounds like you might have clicked on the shortcut for Legacy v7.5. There was a recent update that would bring it up to the version you report below. Look for a shortcut of a bright blue icon with a white L in the center. Legacy 8 installs in a different location and places the data file in a newly created folder in your documents folder. To my knowledge, it doesn’t overwrite Legacy 7.5. I’m not certain why you might be getting an error message if you have indeed, successfully re installed Legacy 8. Right click on the Legacy 8 shortcut on your desktop and then click on open file location. What does the path show for your Legacy 8 installation?
