As Jenny Benson said in her response to your question. The Show List button shows you a list of PEOPLE who are linked to or use the master source. In the case of a source assigned to a General ToDo but not to any specific person there are no PEOPLE to show so Legacy gives you the name of the General ToDo in a special message box.
If you have the source assigned to a ToDo for a person in addition to a General ToDo the Show List button shows the person to whom the ToDo belongs. In this case you are not given the name of the General ToDo which also uses the source.
