I file all my documents by number. Once numbered they go in an acid free sleeve and get filed in a 3 ring binder. The acid free page holders can be purchased online, any of the stores like Staples or Costco.
I use CLOOZ to keep track of the documents. The number for the source goes in the detail screen under File ID. Makes it very easy to go back and locate the document. I got some of them at that time, but genealogy kinda got shoved to the far back corner and I only recently began again. I ordered more dividers in the series that I need yesterday, and got a call from them this morning that they no longer carry those dividers because they don’t sell enough to make it profitable. He suggested another place, but didn’t know if they had them or not. If you file paper documents by number, how do you handle it? Do you use notebooks with dividers or file folders? Do any of you know of another company that might have collated sets of numbered dividers? My marriage numbers go up to about 1700 marriages.
