I'm new to the group, and want to share some information. I'm currently running Linux Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Long Term Support), and using Gramps genealogy. The reporting seems to be a bit lacking, so I looked at Legacy. I'm dual booting with Windows Vista. Installed Legacy 8.0 Deluxe Edition in Vista. Gives me more reporting flexibility along with other features. Have been trying to get off Windows completely, so I installed Wine 1.6.2 in Ubuntu and Legacy 8.0 in Wine. Couple of minor issues cropped up.
Startup Family does not display on initial load. Click on the "Family" tab, and it comes up. Display Tooltips - When you hover over a button, you get a blank box. Click on the button, and if there are multiple items, the selection box fills in. Single items produce pop-up boxes. Display Quick Names List - When you hover over a button for husband or wife, you bet a blank box. Clicking gives you a pop-up box. Buttons on the Marriage line work fine. Also works fine when you hover over a child. Working with Legacy support to try and resolve these issues. Answers may be in the .usr files. Waiting to hear back. Since this is a secondary genealogy program, I haven't really done any detailed testing. Hope this is of value to other members of the group.
