i agree with Pat, shared events are very useful, much better than copy. With shared events you can connect people who are not otherwise related
Example: i have a lot of immigrants, they often arrive in groups, they indicate a relative in the country they came from, and a friend in the United States and with shared events i can group them all together into an events with different roles. As I understand, The GedCom standard only specifies relationships within families, but Legacy is based on a relational database (Access) where you can create additional relationships. But it is a pity that Legacy when exporting to GedCom doesn’t split up the shared event on the persons concerned /Rune 2015-05-22 5:07 GMT+02:00 Nancy <[email protected]>: > Interesting little man by your signature. > > > Sent from my iPad > > > On May 21, 2015, at 3:46 PM, Leon Chapman <[email protected]> wrote: > > > > You have the option to not use shared events in Legacy. > > > > Chap > > ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ > > > > > > Sent from my iPad > > Leon Chapman > > [email protected] > > [image: ⛳] > > > > > >> On May 21, 2015, at 1:39 PM, "[email protected]" <[email protected]> > wrote: > >> > >> So, I love shared events because it's such a timesaver in Legacy. > However, none of these shared events can be shared with Family Search > family tree!
