My question refers to deleting a master source. Several years ago we began
using Legacy 7 and transferred the family file from the Family Tree Maker
genealogy program. This family file had been developed over many years and
had in excess of 15,000 individuals. After the transfer we found that
there
are about 1,000 individuals who have a Master Source of "newspaper" with
text that reads identically on each one and was correct for only one of the
individuals. It appears that everyone who had "newspaper" in the FTM
program was combined into one "newspaper" master source in the master
source
list and connected to all these 1,000 individuals when it was only correct
for one of them and possible overwrote information on the source for the
other 999 individuals. I am aware of how to delete a master source but am
wondering if this is the only thing to do or if there is any way to recover
the source information that was possibly overwritten? Thank you for any
suggestions or information you may make that will help.
