Just in case it helps someone else, I've now got the new version running. There are three things I did differently from yesterday's attempt: 1. I made sure that all the User defaults were set on the old version. 2. I could not find the 516 version I had downloaded yesterday on my computer, so I went to the web site and downloaded 517. 3. I installed the downloaded file from my computer, instead of from within Legacy.
