Hi Sherry, My Legacy file now exceeds 438,500 names, 1.25 GB, and runs with no problems. I do have a lot of notes so I'll watch that 2GB file limit.

He had been importing any gedcom he could find and eventually crashed Legacy. When I tried to look at the file in Access there were a gazillion "unknown" individuals, not to mention messed up stuff because of the crash. Ken told me he was going to implement a "stop" warning if someone started to import a gedcom or other file that would take Legacy over the limit. Since this is so super rare (I've been working for Legacy since 2002 and this is the only time I ever saw it), I don't know if I'll ever see it again to find out if the "stop" warning works! And the funny thing - the file with over 500,000 individuals is actually larger than the one with 1 million. It has a lot to do with amount of notes, events and other stuff you enter in the file. Pictures are generally not a problem since they're not included in the file, but the file paths are.....
