Charlene,

Just to add to what Chap has said.

You just need to install Legacy 8 to the defaults. It doesn't overwrite
version 7 etc. It installs to the Program Files whereas earlier versions
by default installed to C:\Legacy and if you changed it, you had to
avoid the Program Files folder.
Earlier versions of Legacy had a default Data folder under the program
folder: C:\Legacy\Data
Legacy 8 has default Data folder in Documents. It sets up a folder:
Documents\Legacy Family Tree\
In this folder is a folder for Data (which you don't have to use but
might as well).
However there is a vital folder in this Legacy Family Tree folder. It's
called _AppData and it contains your settings. You can't move it or
rename the Legacy Family Tree folder. It will just be recreated with
defaults when you reopen Legacy 8.
