Hi Charlene, I'm not quite with it today and hadn't read the whole thread.
Having your file in Legacy 7.5 and his in Legacy 8 will probably simplify your issues of comparing files and adding relevant data. In his file, you could have tags for different things verified and a tag when you finished comparing someone. eg tag 1: verified birth tag 2: verified death ... tag 9 done You can label the tags on the Advanced tag page. You might want similar tags in your file - at least a tag = I've finished checking this one against Dad's.
