Have you tried waking up your NAS system before you touch Legacy? Maybe
just create a simple BAT file that does a DIR of D: and then exits. Put
a shortcut for that BAT file on your desktop and just click on a
shortcut - it should only take a couple seconds to run (depending on how
long it takes that NAS system to wake up).

Granted, that is not a "solution", but it might be a workable work-around.

I, myself, have had issues with systems going asleep while some programs
are running - I gave that up years ago. You may want to consider
adjusting your sleep times/options (just have the drive spin down and a
screen power off, but don't actually let it go to sleep for a long
time), and then get in the habit of exiting Legacy (and other programs)
if you will be away from it for that "long time". Again, not a
solution, but it might be another functional work-around.
