Colin, There are a couple of issues here -
First, are you putting the computer to sleep or is it automatically
going to sleep based on power management settings?
Second, is there a reason for the computer to be put to sleep or do you
just want the monitor to go blank?
Third, is your computer set up to wake up with the touch of the keyboard
or mouse (or another remote signal)?
I don't put a desktop computer to sleep - at least not the hard drive.
I let the monitors go blank. I operate my fdb files from my OneDrive
that is mapped to my computer. By leaving my internet connection live
and the hard drive awake, I don't experience any problems with leaving
Legacy running (as long as I don't attempt to access the file from
another computer). You can only access a .fdb file on one computer at a
time to make sure there is not data overwrite.
I know that the wizards at Legacy don't encourage this method, but I
find it works perfectly well for me.
