Steve, The default census sentence definitions have been designed with the US census in mind. They have State and Federal censuses. My census entries are mainly English.
You can change the sentence definition to suit your use of the Description field. Just click the Edit Event Sentence Definition button. This changes the Master definition of that event. If you want to just change one person's sentence, you use the Sentence Override. I have one sentence for when the person is the head of household when I leave the description field blank. So for only date and place filled I use: [FirstHeShe] was recorded on the census of [Date] [inPlace] as head of household.[Sources][:if [Notes]::[CR][Notes]] the fancy bit at the end is so that Notes start on a new line. You could just have [FirstHeShe] was recorded on the census of [Date] [inPlace] as head of household. and Sources and Notes are controlled by other choices in the Report/Output. I use the Description field for head of household and relationship to head. eg: James Cooper, her father or James Cooper as butler. My sentence for that is: [FirstHeShe] was recorded on the census of [Date] [atPlace] in the household of [Desc].[Sources][:if [Notes]::[CR][Notes]] Summary: Use the Description field however you like so long as you're consistent and edit the sentences to suit.
